Carbon dioxide is almost odorless even at a concentration of 30% to 40%, and it is said that even animals cannot detect it. It causes sedation within 1 to 2 minutes, and within a few minutes, breathing stops, cardiac arrest occurs, and death occurs. Side effects such as writhing and vomiting may be observed.
